Is that different than disabling the app in settings?
I don't think so. Although it does it for you.

correct.  And it tracks which of the apps that you closed have stayed closed and which you might want to hibernate again

What's it using now?
Google Now uses chrome custom tabs (an inapp  lightweight version of chrome) to open web pages.
You can turn that on/off in Settings/Accounts & Privacy/Open web pages in App.

If it's already set to using an external browser and you want it to use regular chrome then you need to go to the App Info page for that browser and Clear Defaults. You will then be able to choose chrome when you try opening a Web page in Google Now

Need a good app for listening to shiurim that does the following:

A- I can change playback speed
B- bookmarks the place. So if I go out of the app and back to the track it will continue at same place (and speed?).

Currently I have VLC that does A but not B, and Google play that does B but not A.

I'm nearly sure it'll depend whether you're online or not.

It should search everything IINM. I know that when I set up imap with outlook on my pc it gave me the option whether it should load everything immediately or just load mail from that point on. (I think there was also an option of choosing a date from when to load.) So if it's all loaded then it should be in your search.

Podcast Addict (free) does both.

that is exactly the question. It does not load all of it onto the device. Does it load all onto the server to search or does it only search the emails loaded onto the device.

click on the file thru your file explorer and you'll get a pop up asking you which app you want to use (unless  you already set the default to something else).

If you did then you can clear defaults

Not sure. I use FX Explorer and I'm able to create a shortcut on the homepage to that folder.
