Ok, so I have been playing around with an Android lately and I have come across some cool apps.

GoDaven has an app called Find a Minyan which you can either browse through the database or have it find based on your GPS coordinates. Another very cool option built in is that it will also give you the Zmanim based on you GPS coordinates.

Mybidder. Free ebay auction sniper WARNING it will not work within 2-5 minutes of auction ending time ( it does let you know that though).

Google Voice

Groove IP for VOIP calls with GV its a bit of a disaster IME

OnTheFly ita search engine, I couldn't get the codes to work :(

AdBlock and AdFree supposed to copy ABP in firefox but not sure if it really does anything (angrybirds still has ads)
Here is an update of my apps:
Barnacle WiFi tether
News360 (Amazing News App, if you like Google News you'll love this)
Awardwallet
Citi
Chase
Amex
Paypal
BatteryBooster
Drudge
Es Task MAnager
Astro FIle Manager
FW
Gasbuddy
Kayak
Kol Haloshon (it's like the kiosk where you can browse through the shiurim)
Pageonce
Opera mini/mobile
Root Explorer
SuperBox (I like this app because it will scan all your app to transfer to memory card)
TripAdvisor
Voice Recorder
Titanium Backup
My Tracks (tracks our phone's track on a map so you can see afterwards where it has been)
סידור תפילה
חמשה חומשי תורה

Something which has bothered me greatly with android apps is that they all get permissions at installation, ranging from using the internet (usually makes sense) to reading your contacts! So I decided to look high and low for a firewall which would let me deny them the ability of of doing that despite their permissions. I found an app called LBE Privacy guard and it works like a charm, needs root access (ie phone must be rooted). I also found that my battery life is so much better now that I disallowed data and location access from so many apps.

which lg optimus do you have? go on xda-developers.com and type in your phone in the top right corner... play around the forums -- the ones stickied to the top should have root instructions for your phone

some phones are one click roots when plugged into your computer (evo)

others (my evo shift/evo 3d, etc) will make you go through a few crucial steps that must be followed exactly as it is showed on the forums.

read twice til the end then follow step by step when rooting
