In case anyone didn't realize, it shows you on which days you have an event written in youe phone calendar, by those blue sort of dots.
The annoying part is, that when hard-pressing on a day with an event/appt, instead of taking you to that particular day in your calendar, it just takes you to your calendar in general.  Ehhh, just a minor issue..

Gmail used to always automatically refresh on my android phone, every time an email arrived in my gmail inbox, I'd be alerted within a few minutes.

However as of the past few months I'm having to have to go into my gmail app and refresh the inbox manually.  Interestingly, I recently talked to someone who has a Galaxy - totally different company and model phone than mine, and they've been experiencing the same exact issue recently as well!

Anyone else?
Any advice?

searched a little and most said that going back to older version of gmail would help. I tried and had no luck

Should be quite embarrassing for Google that the AOL email app does automatically refresh on androids and alerts you instantly of an incoming email, and their very own gmail doesn't have that capability any more!

Have the Yahoo app too, but I get too much spam (well, mail that I still want to receive but I'm not interested in being alerted to...) so I haven't experienced the alerts, cuz I turned them off..

But I must say, their app sucks -big time, compared to gmail (minus the alert issue).

do you have a link to the AOL app? All I was able to get is to set it up to the reg android email. U couldn't find the AOL mail app on the android market?

The old Gmail app (GB on Evo 4G) alerted you instantly. It also had a (bug) feature that as soon as you marked a message as unread, even if you marked it unread from the computer, you would get a "new email" notification on your phone. I sorely miss that feature now on ICS. If anyone can tell me how I can get that feature back I will be extremely appreciative.
