Ok, so I have been playing around with an Android lately and I have come across some cool apps.

GoDaven has an app called Find a Minyan which you can either browse through the database or have it find based on your GPS coordinates. Another very cool option built in is that it will also give you the Zmanim based on you GPS coordinates.

Mybidder. Free ebay auction sniper WARNING it will not work within 2-5 minutes of auction ending time ( it does let you know that though).

Google Voice

Groove IP for VOIP calls with GV its a bit of a disaster IME

OnTheFly ita search engine, I couldn't get the codes to work :(

AdBlock and AdFree supposed to copy ABP in firefox but not sure if it really does anything (angrybirds still has ads)

check out Google Maps, Yes Google maps for the one you're used to.

Google added a lot of features to there maps app for android, one that's very interesting, you can program it where your home is, where your shul is, where your grocery is, (where your kollel is,) where your work is and even where your parents live,

At the end of the week/month Google will give you a chart, this month:
2 Hours in Shul
10 Hours in Grocery
150 Hours at work
0 Hours at Parents

its a lebedige misur siefer!

just a heads up - adfree only works for rooted phones... also after updating the hosts, rebooting the phone helps remove the ads

Something which has bothered me greatly with android apps is that they all get permissions at installation, ranging from using the internet (usually makes sense) to reading your contacts! So I decided to look high and low for a firewall which would let me deny them the ability of of doing that despite their permissions. I found an app called LBE Privacy guard and it works like a charm, needs root access (ie phone must be rooted). I also found that my battery life is so much better now that I disallowed data and location access from so many apps.
