When I switch to a new Android (i.e. from an old android), I was under the impression that it's supposed to automatically sync all my apps onto the new phone; but it hasn't done that.

What's wrong?

Do I really need to now manually re-install every single app on my Gmail/G Play Acct onto my new phone?! :o

Use a backup app. Titanium Backup is the best, but there are others. Just be careful, many of the free versions are limited.

I forgot to add that Titanium Backup needs root.
Also, what you mentioned about automatically syncing, it only happened to me on one of my devices. Until then I thought it was only to restore to that device which was backed up.

Weird, every time I reset my Nexus 7, all the apps get pushed from my G account...
