My wife just got a pretty clever email. It was allegedly sent by one of her friends and looked like a regular email that had a few pictures attached. Only it didn't have any attachments, it looked like a Gmail email where on the bottom it had a list of attachments and near each one there is the option to view or download, but all that was really part of the text of the email. Clicking on the link to view or download took her to a page that looked like Gmail's home page that asked her to sign in (as if she accidentally signed out or something). What tipped her off was that the regular sign in page showed up, even though she was on her phone so the mobile sign in page should have showed up. Though if she would have seen that email from her computer she would have most certainly fallen for it.
A separate thread with lists of scams, links, stories, etc, would be great. There is also a tv series called scam city, and can be found on Youtube.
