Sesame Place - Langhorne, PA - Kosher Food
« Reply #20 on: May 28, 2013, 11:42:40 AM »
Hi All,
So, I just spent the holiday weekend with the family at Sesame Place and was pleasantly surprised at all the kosher food they had. Please note, that everything I am listing below was confirmed kosher by personally looking at the box of each product and finding the kosher symbol (all of them have an OU or Star-K):

Elmo Pretzels
Soft Serve Ice Cream
Chocolate Chunk Cookies
Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches (Smuckers Crustables)
Minimelts (http://www.star-k.org/kashrus/kk-new-stark-Winter11.htm)

I hope this helps out for anyone thinking of going!
I have nothing witty to write here....

Anyone going to sesame place today that wants to help make a minyan for mincha/maariv? Or know of a place near the park that one can find a minyan?

Thanks

Knesset Hasefer in Yardley is a 10 min drive away but they don't always have a minyan. Call ahead and tell them you are coming and you might just be #10

I'm going to sesame place next weekend. Are there any updates for kosher food in the area?

Yes, there is a very basic falafel place called "The World of Falafel" that just opened in Newtown about 10 min away. It is under the supervision of the local Chabad and is open from 10 am to 10 pm.

There is also a Rita's water ice down the block from the Falafel place but not sure if thats under any supervision

Is there a reason that people make this into a weekend trip as opposed to a day trip? A whole weekend squished in a room with my kids and 2-3 full days at the park just don't seem that appealing to me.

Whats the pricing on suite for the weekend plus passes? 500-600? Or significantly more? Also, do infants need passes?

people do more than a day trip because the tickets are good for 2 days

I checked on the website and I don't think they are under Chabad. It is under Mekor Baruch Orthodox Kosher Supervision. However, Chabad has a letter saying that as long as that letter is there, then kashrus standards are fine.

If you get a group together with 15 or more people tickets are 32$ per person, technically as long as you have more than 9 ppl it is worth it to get the group rate of 15 tickets.
