wow ok! I guess I hit a nerve! I guess I should re-phrase my question. I meant is it a manageable  walk or is it something that should be avoided

So you're asking on a forum if you're capable of walking for 38 minutes? I don't think anyone here can help you with that. Can you manage it?

Yes I can manage a 38 minute walk but ive never been to hong kong before so maybe there it is much harder also there is a possibility of getting lost if it is not an easy walk

ps this is for mid july

It's not a hard walk. Kowloon is flat unlike HKI. In summer it'll be very hot and humid. I assume you're only considering the W for shabbos because you take elevators on shabbos?

I am currently work in HongKong. If you need any gudience.I am happy to help you.

Do you or anyone else have info about staying at the Conrad and going the Shuls and meals at the JCC.  I've read the wiki and almost all the pages and although people have said its a great hotel I didn't know if it would work for Shabbat. I think I only saw a passing reference from Dan about staying at the Conrad for Shabbat and that it is walkable to Chabad (also a good option for us).  I have high HHonors status and lots of their points so that why I was wondering if I could make the Conrad work for us.

you can easily get lost
but if your walking to KZ Shul then you can just get directions to Shangrila which is next door and very famous

Anyone know the hours of the kosher restaurants? having trouble finding online.
Arriving in HKG about 830pm and wondering if there will be anywhere to get food from

Just finished reading the whole thread.
Heres a quick recap.
1) 2 days in Hong Kong is perfect.
2)Dan says stay in the W.
3)Macau is overrated like Eilat
4)Dan says W pool is fabulous.
5)Kehilat Zion is the best place to eat shabbos but expensive at $150 pp.
6)Dan says the W is awesome and convenient.
7)Hyatt isn't shabbos friendly.
8)Dan says definitely choose the W.
9) Custom clothing is significantly more expensive then elsewhere but better quality.
10) Dan says the W HKG is one of the greatest hotels anywhere.

I still can't figure out after going through it all, for what reason would I pick HKI for Shabbos over Kowloon?

Kowloon has KZ, great experience even off peak. Sheraton or International are closer to KZ than W and W isn't shabbos friendly either.

I understand that. I can't find availability anywhere except the HI Golden Mile for 40k and every hotel wants over $300 a night.
