@momark , @Chuck2 , @Yehoshua and others:
Regarding the Hyatt Regency TST, do you think it's worth 6,000 points to splurge on the Club Room (with Club Lounge access) vs. 15,000 for regular room? (I have no status.)
Not really. There's only fruit that you can eat in the lounge, and besides for a nice of you there's nothing else that it offers. I would stick with the standard room. Also keep in mind that the hotel is on the higher floors of the building and requires an elevator to get to the rooms, and to the lobby from the ground floor.

Thanks.  I had gotten the sense that you frequented it a number of times to supplement meals, but if it's only fruit/veg I can grab that anywhere.

I know elevator required.  We have historically been fine with riding if non-Jew presses, but given that it is Elul, I suppose I should AMLOR.  Do you think Sheraton is just as nice? Might be better to avoid elevator if hotels are comparable.

Note that even if you use the stairs, you still need help with the electronic room key. If your LOR does not allow hotel staff to assist, then a solution is to leave to leave the door unlocked (you may need tape), valuables in safe, with "do not disturb" sign for housekeeping.

Probably unsurprisingly, our practice has been to ask hotel staff to escort us to our room and open door for us (only concern is to make sure they are not Jewish), but I suppose I do need to AMLOR.  Just afraid of the answer I might get.  :o

I thought the Sheraton was far worse than the HR TST. Could be just the room I got, but I was far more impressed at the HR. That said, there are other hotels that are close by, walking distance from shul, like the 2 Intercontinentals.

That's helpful.
I was wondering about the IC's. I read a while back someone said they are worth seeing but not sure how they are for actual stays.  Do you know, or does anyone know, which IC is preferable, the IC HK or the IC Grand Stanford?  Latter is a little cheaper (50K vs 40K/night).

The difference between the 2 ICs is the view, with the GS having a worse one and the regular IC having an amazing view.

I was OK with the sheraton. It was good for a Thurs night (late) to Sunday stay. Was able to walk up and down and was able to walk to the outdoor pool as well. Room was decent, nothing spectacular but it did the job

I was also ok with it, but I liked the HR TST a lot better, that was my only point.

While leaving take the make up my room card and place it covering the locking holes

Slowly close the door
While holding the card
The door should press against the card and door frame
At which point you can let go and continue to pull it close

Id go Kowloon cuz of the convenience of being next door to Shul/ restaurant.
