The "salad bar" thing was delicious and great value - you get to refill your plate as much as you want

Are you still in the US? It's really not worth the schlep. If you're already on Asia and you'd otherwise throw them out it's a different question.

Still in the US, but am set on bringing them. Only question is what is the best way - declare them or not?

Because my wife is looking forward to having good food on our trip. This is our first time using Pom meals.

Listen, if everyone here is telling you to leave your POM meals at home and you want to bring them, go ahead. Saying only 1 restaurant will be open isn't a good excuse since how many places do you plan on eating lunch at anyway?

I think there's a misunderstanding here - I'm going to Bali, Singapore, Dubai after Hong Kong. Hence the need for meals.

Not really. Feel free to bring meals to Bali and Dubai, but SIN doesn't need them either.

They took away my meat in AUH (it was in my carryon)
