You can explore Lantau Island then since it's right near the airport anyway.

Question: I'm arriving HKG at 7:15pm with a flight at 8:40am the next morning. Our plan is to go our for dinner to either Mul Hayam or JCC. For ease of transportation and convenience (both at night to get to MH or JCC and and in the morning to get back to the airport,) is it worth it to stay at the Marriott Sky Harbor (Airport) or the W?

The W is right above the train to the airport, so that's easy. JCC isn't as easy as Mul Hayam with public transit, but JCC is has better food for a more reasonable price.

Thanks! Best way to get from W to Mul Hayam? Has anyone ever tried to get from the Marriott (airport) to either one of the restaurants?

Disagree about the better food but the variety and price are better at the JCC

Why can't you add in PEK or SIN to a HKG trip?

You can go to somewhere else. That's why I went to PEK. 2 full days seems to be more than enough time for HKG, assuming the weather cooperates.

With a year and a half old  child so don't want to jump around. That's why I was originally set on Sri Lanka, seemed perfect in every way
Cheap, nice cabins with availability getting there, plenty to do, beautiful, short flights from TLV. Until I realized that the monsoon season starts then...

So why not Australia. You can spend a week there easily. Maybe Perth if you want shorter travel times.

Was originally the plan. I'll give you 3 reasons I nixed it
1) no way I'm taking a 14 hr flight with total travel time of around 24 hrs with my kid, even in apts
2) close to nil chances of finding 3 seats and no interest of paying 20% on EY apts
3) I don't have nearly as much of an  interest in Australia as I do in NZ and I'm very limited what I can do with a toddler, will not be able to experience it like I would want to

All good reasons, though I personally will be paying 20% for an EY apt.  :(
