IHG has two nice hotels there and
SPG Sheraton
Shangrila is next door.

all should be avail for points
Never heard of anyone with Golden-Circle points. And SPG just opened availability though its alot at 16k, may just go for that.
Only the Holiday Inn is available at 40k, also extremely overpriced.

16k is cheap if you think of it as NYC times square or 5th ave location

I've emailed KZ (Kehilat Zion) three times in the last 2 months regarding Shabbat meal reservations.   No response.  Also no response to an email to Chabad of Kowloon.  I arrive right before Shabbos next week.  Any suggestions?  Long distance costs me $3 a minute, sigh.  Is it OK if I just show up to Kehilat Zion unconfirmed?

At this time of year it's probably fine. It's not busy season. Use GV to call them, it's cheaper, but you should go to the restaurant before shabbos to make a reservation in person.

Thanks, Yehoshua!  I didn't reazlie TimeWarner now has free calls to Hong Kong so just got through- her english was horrible but seems the $150 for Shabbos remains- they wanted $75 for just the Friday night meal.  I was thinking KZ friday night and Chabad Shabbos day.  Anyone have any experience on Chabad of Kowloon?   Not too much info on them.  One scary post on flyertalk that says it was like a Purim Seudah!!

Why not just go to KZ for both meals?

My friend cancelled going on this trip, so now I'm stuck paying the full hotel cost for 6 nights, so I was trying to save some money.  If it's truly that good, I guess I'll have to spend it.

Chabad of HKI has great food. Can't speak for Chabad of Kowloon though.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Yes. But if you want email the concierge of the hotel to call for you

Or call when you arrive

Latke: Please let us know how your dilemma resolved.

I am planning a trip to Hong Kong as well and booked the Sheraton in Kowloon. Wondering pros and cons of Shabbos meals at KZ vs. Chabad, as well as Shabbos davening.  Also, I read that Sheraton is "Shabbos friendly" but wonder how they accommodate. Do they accompany you to your room with a master key?

+1 I'm also planning a trip, mine will be with three kids, most likely sleeping at the Sheraton and would love to hear about all these things he mentioned.

The Sheraton lets you walk up to your room and meets you there with a key to open it. There are quite a few non-electric doors into the hotel. Quite easy on shabbos.

Thanks for that info.  Did you see or use the pool at the Sheraton?  I know everyone raves about the one at the W but if I stay at the the Sheraton the whole time I'd love to have my kids be able to swim there.  The Sheraton pool also looked cool and that it had nice views but I'd love your thoughts.

I didn't. It was under construction during my stay (and it was the middle of the winter and too cold for swimming outside).

I'm actually going back to HKG this summer with a toddler. I've heard the Shangri-la will push a stroller over to KZ, but how about the IC Grand Stanford? It's probably the 2nd closest hotel to KZ, and I'm worried about getting the child to/from KZ. Could be she'll be able to walk, but I'm asking here if anyone has experience staying there for shabbos and having the hotel push the stroller. Maybe there's another option, but I haven't seen one.

W HKG (20k or 10k+$180) or RC HKG (~23k)?

W cash price $383 incl tax, Ritz cash price $416 incl tax.

W is not walkable

Shangrila is next door

Clearly that's the easiest

Why look for another option

If you are going further out I would suggest intercontinental but i wonder if they'll help you

im guessing he is asking for during the week. I would go with the w it has had a ton of great reviews. No reason to spend extra on the ritz. If you have tons of spg go with 20k spg if not use c and p
