these are my suggestions of a Day trip.

-Intercontinental Hotel (Lobby & 3rd floor pool)
-Peninsula Hotel (Lobby, 8th Floor Pool)
-Ritz Carlton Hotel (Lobby, Ozone Bar & 118th Floor Pool)
-Mul Hayam Restaurant at Kehilat Zion
I suggest these 3 Hotels because besides the hotel being Beautiful they give you spectacular Views of Hong Kong

if you want you could Ride the Star Ferry to Hong Kong and Back to Kowloon at night should be a nice add on.
Also you could Walk Pier of the Stars after your Star Ferry Ride.

Night Market. Victoria Peak in the Am.
thanks! The night market...how late does it go?
I was thinking go straight from the airport to the hotel (Grand Hyatt) and then uber to Mul Hayam to see if we can get there before they close at 1030. Think thats do-able?

I have the GH booked as i prefer hyatts. Think i should change to one of the ones you recommended? im only there one night.

For 1 night I'd go with the W for sure.
Right on top of the airport express train, stunning hotel, great rooftop pool and hot tub.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

i dont think we'd be taking the train as we will have plenty of luggage plus 2 heavy polar bear bags.

ah got it. I was just looking at the intercontinental and noticed its only an 8 min walk to Mul Hayam. Maybe that is more ideal for us getting in at 830pm to HKG and trying to make it there before 1030

The Hyatt is a 10 min walk so if you prefer hyatts it's the same thing

Also with the W you don't take your bags on the train. You check them and then you go on the train.

+1. Bellhop takes them from room and brings them down with you to be checked in the station to your final destination.

If your there for the night your better off NOT bringing them

AT Arrival to HKG or Wherever your coming from check in your bags  to your final destination and continue to Hotel with a carry on or 2 for whatever you need for the night/day

Right. i was thinking that.
My issue is that ill have the 2 large polar bear coolers which need to go in a freezer (i think). If i check them in then (which im not sure i can as its for the next day -flying Garuda?) it will be about 44 hours from freezer at home to freezer at my final destination

HKG is hot/humid. I wouldn't risk it.

Not in the winter.
I will be there in the summer...im going to take them with me.

Im torn between
- the GH which earns me another night credit (need to re qualify as diamond with 55 nights vs 25 stays)
- the W which seems like its easy with the train and bags
- the intercontinental which is walking distance to Mul Hayam and i can use my free night

W. I'll be there in the summer too (CNX is apparently complicated to get to from DPS, and I'm just talking about flight schedules, not price/miles, @Dan) and will be splitting my time: 3 nights (over shabbos) at IC GS using CSR for 2 nights and IC free night for last night and one (last) night at W.

why not the Hyatt regency which is walking distance and a Hyatt
But if you plan on spending time in the hotel just spring for the w if not and you are just sleeping there then go with either ic or hyatt regency

It's the best W in the world. Easy choice for any non-Shabbos stay in HKG.
