Considering doing the TLV-HKG-USA route, how long should I aim for in HKG?

I have up to two weeks so I'd potentially consider doing a short hop elsewhere in middle.
2 days should be enough but make sure one of the days is a Sunday

That's it? If so where else should I consider going? What happens on Sunday?

Longer if you want to make custom clothing or go to Macau or Shenzhen.

I do want to make custom.

I want to take advantage of the fact that I have a significant amount of time to take in as much of the area as I can, if that means HKI, Macau and Shenzhen I'll do that. If that won't take a full two weeks maybe I'd go to Singapore or Shanghai in the middle...

Truth I don't know much at all about the far east so I'm looking for ideas.

ETA: I'm not even that hooked on HKG, I would consider using it as a stop and going somewhere else for most of the trip.

You can definitely spend 2 great weeks in Asia. Read the threads here on the locations you mentioned, and the trip reports, and try to narrow down what appeals most to you, and fits within your budget or permits use of any miles/points you may have to redeem.

I'd suggest heading to the trip planning thread.

Custom clothing in HKG+Macau+Shenzhen can take 4-7 days. Definitely not 2 weeks.

I would skip SIN, there's just not that much to do there. If it were me, I would do HKG and BKK+USM.

BKK over CNX?

I didn't find SIN to be worth the time, maybe as part of a bigger trip it would be but I feel like there are better places to go in that amount of time. Unfortunately, I had to cut off my trip early and didn't end up making it to SGN and HKG so I really don't have much to compare SIN to.

Yea, you're probably right, CNX does make more sense from what I gather from the threads but he probably has enough time to do BKK, CNX, and a couple days at USM.

+1 definitely do Thailand...if you want to make a suit why not just stop back in HKG on the return instead of staying so long?

making a suit is fun but not worth the extra time

you can have them ship it to the USA for a few dollars more

Not the same as having them fit you on the spot a few times.

No one said you can't do that still

I'm not talking about going 1 time
but going 2ce could work in a pinch

obviously 3 times is the best

Need advice experts:

Landing in Hong Kong at 6:50 PM on Wednesday and flying out on Saturday at 2 PM. Not planning to get suits stitched. Hoping to do Macau also in this time frame. Is this a enough time to cover main things?

If yes, would you recommend going to Macau on Wednesday right after we land or later? Any advice you can give is appreciated.

Thanks.
