The Ritz is in Kowloon along with the W.

Did you mean the JW which is on HKI?
Hmm, you're right, I just looked, not sure why I had it in my mind that it was on HKI. Even better now, I'd rather spend more time in Kowloon, any preference for one hotel over the other?

Anyone?
Doubt many have stayed in both.

We enjoyed the W a lot.

If I was going to book either the W or the Ritz for one night, which would you recommend? I know the W is in Kowloon and the Ritz is on HKI but assuming I'm spending some time on each anyway and I'm only going to book one or the other, which would you book?
W

also the W is not your normal Pink and purple vibe

Also I opt for Outdoor pool over indoor pool

Take the ride up to Victoria’s Peak and visit tourist attractions there.

+1. There are also some night markets to see, like Ladies Market. Additionally, Lantau Island is supposed to be cool, but I haven't gone personally.

Best view are on medium floor room of grand hyatt or balcony room of InterContinental Hongkong, but they may cost your more then 1000USD per night during peak season.

the Shangri La
is pretty nice and very convenient if you plan on staying for Shabbos (next door to Zion)

If I want to go to minyan daily (not shabbos) is the best option the HR Kowloon?

I mean of points hotels (other than IC)
Basically, are there any other options - how far would it be from the Ritz/W which seem like nicer hotels but also seems like a pain to get to KZ

yes HR is the closest and nicest points hotel and is walking distance to KZ (not including the IC which I am unfamiliar with) your other option for walking distance is the Sheraton which I stayed at. But from the outside the HR looks much nicer. W and Ritz are not as easy to get to KZ from but are nicer as you pointed out.

We stayed at The Royal Garden for about 1/3 of the cost of Shangrila and it was about half a block away. I have pictures and wrote about it in my TR.  I was very happy with the hotel and location.
