"AW SNAP" in Chrome
« on: March 12, 2013, 11:18:33 AM »
Does anyone have a problem that when you are in Chrome you get a screen that says "aw snap" and then a second later your whole computer restarts? It happens to me pretty often any solution??
Thanks

Does it only happen with chrome or does it crash even when using other browsers (or do you only use chrome).

I'll let the computer pros chime in, but chances are that it runs deeper than software. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling chrome.

When this happens to me, it is usually because Windows installed updates and is doing a restart. The system automatically shuts down all the programs and for a brief second you see the aw snap and Windows shuts down. Usually there is a dialog box in the bottom right corner of your screen that sporadically asks whether you want to restart, postpone 10 minutes or postpone 4 hours. I always select four hours and then lose track so it seems to be happening randomly but it was really by my selection.

I would backup and then delete everything in the Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data folder and then restart chrome. It will automatically create a new default profile and it should work. (if you have anything important in the profile backup first)
