They didn't. JFK-LHR is still 40000 and $415. Please correct the title.

Would post a screenshot but apparently Tinypic blocked my IP (TG lounge BKK)

YQ kills any value in the points.

Ridiculous

Upper Class retail is $4-5000 JFK-LHR, 80000 + $900 is almost half price. Not to talk about other destinations around the world.

Spoken like a true ticket broker :)

But from the perspective of a person who can use 80000 (or 100K) MR to either book upper class with $900YQ or SYD on VA with $0 YQ, it seems like a much lower value.

great point! I actually used them a few times and must say that I really enjoyed the experience and instead of paying 8k usd for  round trip I used 80k vs points and the high yq
Ps how do I modify the topic?

Right but some people just happen to have to go to London

Indeed, and for those people, there are ways of getting there w/o YQ... tho, admittedly, the product may not be as nice.

Compared to other programs, how does using points and paying almost $1000 in cash a good value?

Or, in other words, what he I said.

Why would you book LAX -SYD with VS miles?

he's referring to using MR points for uses other than Virgin.
