I don't think it has to do with the yarmulka, as some guys didn't wear them on interviews.

It may make you sad, but it's not such a simple question...

I didn't mean to simply it, and I'm not passing judgement on the people who make that choice, especially if/since they have a heter from a competent Rabbi.

I find it ironic: A Kippah is intended to remind one of Hashem (who sustains us)'s constant presence, yet it somehow makes sense to take it off when going to interview for a job which is supposed to facilitate said sustenance?

It vaguely resembles the irony (not to draw any parallels) of:

Are you sure about that?

It's one of the given reasons, see Kiddushin 31a, and Shabbos 156b.

I agree, and that's precisely one of the reasons I choose to wear it.

But I do hear the argument the other way, as well.

I didn't look thru Shabbos carefully enough, but in Kidushin I'm assuming you're referring to the Amora who didn't walk 4 amos with his head uncovered since shicna was above him.

I understood this to be an act of modesty and humility of not leaving his head in direct 'contact' with the shecina, or as a general impoliteness. I looked, but neither Rashi, Tosfos, the Mahrsha or the Ritva explain this as a mechanism to remember Hashems presence. In fact the Mesorases Hashes links to a Rambam discussing the obligation of a Talmid chuchem to dress respectfully and cleanly in public....?

Just my .02 but if anyone wants to go to law school I can not stress enough that you should take a course with Fisch. I'd also suggest prepping for the June test, it is worth it to start early. That is assuming you aren't scoring a 180 on your own...

C'mon, for a Yeshiva guy, shouldn't the LSAT be the easiest part of (getting in to) law school?!
(Obviously, not including those that are "academically challenged" )

Judging from the latter half of your comment, I'm not sure I'd consider the former half credible..  ::)
