Enroll here in Aegean and you'll get 1,000 miles that count towards elite status as well.
4,000 miles get you *S and 16,000 more miles and you have *G!

CO=50% on WESTNL, 100% on most other fares, 125% for most business/first fares.
UA=50% on WSTLK, 100% on most other fares, 150% for full Y, 200% for business, 300% for First

Ok, to Israel its for sure worth it most.
Now the question is, how one can credit miles there without flying. SPG is not an option, does Amex? Most guys here (I would not dare to include superflyer or steve2 ;-) ) dont fly that much to collect enough way the old fashioned way!
By the way, some rules are quite bad

No change of date or destination will be accepted on any issued Tickets.
When cancellation is requested for a booking at least 24 hours prior to the departure date, 50% of the respective redemption Miles for such bonus will be deducted from the Member’s Account. If cancellation of a booking is requested within a time period of less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, all relevant redemption Miles for the Ticket will automatically be deducted from the Member’s Account.

Taking your points into consideration, if they have a low threshold to book award flights, they will have very valuable mileage.

Continental changed their award levels when they joined I would not be surprised if these guys do the same. So don't bank too many miles with them. Also does anyone know their surcharges??? Then we will know if it truly worthwhile?

Sounds to me the best value is really only for *G Status! I would never book a ticket risking losing half the miles.

FYI some of COs awards went down in the amount of Miles needed while others went up, but then again USAir gets more miles then UA or CO does for the same destination , so anything can happen

Aegean just changed their award chart yesterday, I doubt it will change again too soon.

More likely that they will change their qualification requirements which are ridiculously low!

I just got my new Aegean Star Alliance Gold card : no expiration date
