Chase Ultimate Rewards are probably the most valuable. Get the Ink Bold or Ink Plus and pick up gas cards at an office supply store for 5x points. I keep a stock of shell cards in my card.  I know Staples sells Shell, and I think Office Depot sells Exxon/Mobile. Dan's post on A List Of Gift Cards Sold By Office Supply Stores has all the info.

Chase Freedom gives you 5 points this quarter.
They usually have one quarter a year that is 5 points per dollar which I find much easier then dealing with gift or prepaid card.

Yeah but I'd rather do CVS this quarter and prepaid gas gcs.

Plus gas gcs get the cash price.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Dont they get 10 cents below cash price? Or is that only in Shell?

If you don't go the route of gift cards with Chase Ink cards, and in months when the 5x category is not gas, you may wish to consider the the Amex Premier Rewards Gold Card which gives 2X points on gas.

I'm assuming the best way to purchase gas would be the gc from ppdg and then pay with a ink card earning 5x Vs. Using an exxon/mobile credit card which gets you the first 2 months 20 cents of the gallon, and then after that with 6  of the gallon and double plenti points with each gallon, instead of one per gallon 2 points per each gallon?
Also calculating the cash price when using the gc from ppdg it will probably be a huge difference in savings? (assuming the prices are not the same for cash and credit.)

Don't try to be someone else , be who you are because everyone else is taken.
