I went to Cabo about 2 years ago and it was gorgeous. Weather was awesome and the Hilton there is gorgeous. We got the ocean front suite and it was one of the nicest rooms I stayed in. We went during May which is actually off season and we got a great deal on our room. Weather was perfect 80's. The Hotel was also empty then which was great. Infinity end pool, swim up bar, a few feet from the beaches.. I highly recommend this for any in LA or even from Cleveland  ;)      I am thinking about going back this summer with my kids.

Dan,  I am surprised you never made it there yet. It is in my opinion one of the most relaxing places to visit.

Cabo is not a problem at all. It's a great place.  We managed to get meat in, but chicken is okay to bring in anyway I think so I wouldn't necessarily let that stop you from going.

I paid. It came out to like $200 a night. Hilton had an 30% off promotion if you used your visa card. I went in May which is off season so prices were low anyways.

planning a trip to Cabos, wondering whether or not there is need for a rental car? If not, what is the best way to get from the airport to hotel?
One more thing, wondering whether or not it is a dangerous place to visit or not?

anybody here stay at The Westin Resort & Spa, Los Cabos?
Just wondering if the waters are calmer by this hotel? I would hate
to have to stay out of the ocean...

Anyone know if a rental car is needed for this trip? And any specific activity/attraction that shouldn't be missed while there? (Staying at Westin)

I am planning to stay at the Westin Cabo end of August. Did you take your trip there yet?

If anyone is planning on going to Cabos, this hotel sometimes has great deals on Jetsetter. Prob the nicest property in Mexico:

.

I was just there last week. Westin is just ok property. The rooms aren't anything special IMO. I checked out the Sheraton and it actually looked a little nicer but there were more kids around.

Not needed but can be more economical. I got one for $8/day. Taxi to and from airport is probably $40 so I recommend it so you can drive around freely.

In your opinion Cabos vs Cancun from LA which would be a better option for an extended weekend (given the flights etc).
