Jetblue Blue Basic Fares
« on: January 15, 2021, 02:40:18 PM »
For flights booked around now (meaning with current airline change policies), is there any reason not to book a Blue Basic fare from Jetblue? I have the Jetblue credit card that gives me free bags and plenty of Jetblue miles. The annoying thing is that you can't book a Blue Basic fare with miles so I'd probably just use cash unless there's a reason I would not want a Blue Basic Fare.

This would just be for short term travel in March to South Florida with my wife. Is there something negative about Blue Basic that I'm missing?

If you cancel, funds go towards future jetblue travel, not back to your credit card.
Always use an Amex, you'll thank me one day.

Would they go back to my credit card if I bought a Blue fare instead of a Blue Basic fare? I'm just trying to figure out the benefits of Blue vs. Blue Basic.

Presumably this would apply to Blue Basic fares, because other fares already have free changes.

This may be a glitch, but I’m able to change my BE tickets for January to any date on the calendar with no fare difference. If this works for everyone, there can be a great potential in booking for January and changing to a high season.
