Hi, I booked 2 tickets on United with a paid fare, since award wasnt available.
I see upgrades are available for 17,500 +$125 per ticket, each way, is there any way to get them to waive the $125 fee? It doesnt make sense to have such a large fee??

Lol. Get status with UA or buy full fare.

Welcome to UA. The $125 charge is not a fee. It is part of the upgrade cost. Wont get them to waive it as it is not a fee..

Not a scam. Just their version of "Upgrades". They are allowed to do what they want. If others fall for it, good.

I booked a United flight and put it on hold using the paypal trick.
What am gaining with the hold ?
If i cancel because i found a better cheaper deal they wont charge me anything ? Will they not deduct the miles if i do nothing ?
Since i have enough miles in my account what is the point.

Please reply
Thanks

If you cancel, you lost nothing.  If you have the points and are happy with the ticket, you don't gain anything by holding it.

This isn't entirely a United question so forgive if its the wrong topic,

Now ANA online & UA on the phone tell me its unavailable in J while AC have confirmed availability for 82.5k.

What gives???

This might have been discussed before I just couldn't find it.
What's the difference in the fees that united charges for booking tickets, besides the $75 21 day fee. like a (economy saver) ticket from ewr to nyc next week can be 42k points plus $119 or other times more money.
So what's the rule?

Each airport/town/city has different taxes.
