Are there blackout dates with UA awards? EWR-HNL has basically no Saver or Standard avail from June-August. Is that because we're too far away or because it's blacked out?

No black out dates.
So why would there be a ton of avail in Feb-Apr, nothing Jun-Aug and then random dates from Sep-Dec? Some summer flights have no J seats booked at all (if you look at the seat map), so why doesn't UA release any seats to awards?

No black out dates. They hope to sell the seats.

I'm planning an award and need advice on whether this itinerary is valid. It won't price online and a UA phone rep told me that it was invalid because you have to take the most direct route  ::). I DROPR, but I'm actually not sure that it's valid.

Crossing both oceans on 1 award can cause pricing issues
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Is there a Difference in F or J with UA besides the F service?

Not sure what you're asking, but there is definitely a difference between F and J on a three-class plane, e.g. 777.

In the actual seat or the service and more private? I'm talking about 777 from FRA-NYC

I modified the routing to not cross both oceans. Now they're saying that the problem is not crossing both oceans (rep said explicitly that I could do NYC-TLV/NRT-NYC), but instead that I can't have TLV-NRT together with the rest of the segments because it's a third region and would make it a RTW ticket. The reps I spoke to didn't want to try to manually price it. Progress of a sort, I suppose.

So is LH J on a 747 better then UA F on a 777?
