Shoot. So I'd have to book some tickets under each name?
Yes or book both out of one account if you have enough.

don't have enough.
Only one of us currently has the Explorer card. What advantages do we lose by not booking a ticket from that account? (looking to go from EWR to TLV)

Thanks

So that only makes a difference for domestic tickets, right?

I believe so. If you call after both are booked they'll join them, not sure what the benefits of that are other than a better chance of keeping your seats together.

I booked a award last night and I want to change the flight for a different date same route (workaround ). and I get interesting results. Like plus 57k miles and extra money. What does that mean ? I can still cancel and rebook.  But why is  it happening?

Aha.

What I would probably do is book the two outbound tickets from one account, and the two return tickets from the other account.

Does that make sense?

Not if you want a free stop over.

Isn't the free OW basically using your stopover?

I think we just want direct flights. any other reason not to book two pairs of one-way flights?

You can still get a free OW when booking direct.

Example: LAX-TLV,TLV-LAX||LAX-HNL as one ticket.
