Does united charge a fee if i want to switch my saver reward from lax-ewr to lax-jfk for same day of travel? Newark is just annoying

Online is always cheaper to change a ticket than what their chart shows. Not sure why.

saver award first just opened up for a flight back from LAX>EWR on a 737-900. I'm still waiting for the 757-200 flight to open up. you think i have a chance if i wait or i shouldn't even bother...there are still 5 out of 16 seats open and the flight is on the 26th...
