They were blocking those segments from being married when you searched yesterday.
Not really any rhyme or reason, but it's been getting worse.  There's a DDMS post on it.
Link? Please.

That is indeed very frustrating, and explains what i saw last night.

But how do you explain what i saw this morning? when the flight was pricing correctly at 25K on a JFK-SFO search, but still pricing at 35K if one did a multi-city search? just good old fashioned IT glitch?

Sorry for my ignorance. Is there a way to book a United from NYC to KOA with a stopover in LAX for 3 days/shabbat, without paying the additional 12.5k {35k total} miles and instead pay the 22.5k as if it was a direct NYC to KOA ??   Thanks for everyone's help

is there a way to do it booking with SQ on UA, are stopovers allowed?
If you think nobody cares about you... just forget to pay your credit card bill

Well HNL to LAS would have to be through Hawaiian and not through United. So United would only be NYC to LAX and then on KOA after shabbat

You can book an open jaw+stopover.
But why do you want to be in LAS for shabbos anyway? Just about the last place I'd want to be for shabbos.  Why not just fly home and save the miles?

No idea why it's pricing as 40K though, I'd have guessed 35K.
Probably needs a PUTPAC.

I ama United Silver member and I have a flight next week from Europe to EWR in J with miles. Global First currently looks completely empty. What are my chances that United will upgrade me as a silver member? Is there something I can do?

They were blocking those segments from being married when you searched yesterday.
Not really any rhyme or reason, but it's been getting worse.  There's a DDMS post on it.
In your DDMS post you wrote.
Quote from: DDMS link=http://www.dansdeals.com/archives/60991
The married segments had award availability, but those same flights individually didn’t have award space.  In essence it’s a hidden-city ticket, except that you can hold an award and just chop off the extra leg afterwards.
How is that done?
