Want to book a UA award flight but don't have the points yet (just got approved for the card, should be coming in the mail tomorrow). Is there a way to temporarily have a negative balance? Don't want to lose out on the availability. How long does United let you hold a flight for? It's going to be a OW Plan B ticket if that makes any difference.

It's a UA flight. So when I call up reservations, I tell them I want to do Plan B and ask to put it on fare lock? How long can I hold it for?
Also, if I'm flying with a lap child (domestic), do I tell them that when I'm booking or just add my kid when I check in at the airport?

Fare lock is up to 7 days, and there is a small charge, I think plan b would only work after it is ticketed.

Small charge for fare lock or for infant?

not sure if this has been addressed upthread or in some other thread but can't find it on search...
I have a mileage Y class ticket EWR-TLV, and would be happy to pay money and or miles to upgrade, however there is no I class availability (there is some J), what possible options/experiences are possibly open to me? Thanks!

On the award availability calendar, why does it sometimes have a certain date in green but when you click on it, there isn't any First Saver Award availability? Isn't green supposed to mean that there is economy and premium saver availability?
