trying to book TLV-EWR in Y, x4. on my preferred flight there is no Saver availability (or on any other flight, but availability is:
Available fare classes:J9JN9C9D0Z0ZN0P0PN0R0RN0IN0I0Y9YN9B9M9E9U9H9HN9Q9V9W9
Is it  worth it / safe to wait? Is there any chance of it opening up? I'm about 6 weeks out.

4 seats to open up at the same time? Basically 0 chance of that happening.

Set expert flyer alerts. There's a decent chance it'll open, especially a few days before.

Sometimes u need to log out and log back in
tried doing that but it didn't help in fact its showing me the "exclusively available to you as a chase cardholder" while showing me HN class instead of XN class :o

Had a similar situation today on EWR-TLV flight for today july 10th flight #90 there was one seat for sale and on united expert mode showed me JN1. But it did not show up online, called UA the first rep couldn't help me got transfered to supervisor and sure enough after i told her i was looking at JN inventory she found it.

Is this some trick by united to try to get people not to book it, I thought that with the chase card any seat any time means that as long as the seat is for sale it is redeemable for standard miles?

The fee  for booking a MileagePlus award ticket , less than 21 days before departure goes by the hour, not by the day.

Is 7/27 less than 21 days from 8/17?
No.
It is exactly 21 days.
A little sneaky if you ask me.

That's really interesting. I wonder why they opted for that instead of the entire day.

More $ for them.
Maybe a lawyer can chime in on this.

Unfortunately, this has started to be relevant, with the end of the close in trick-as we knew it.

Not more money if I opt for the 3:10 flight. I would assume, all flights that day would have the fee.

No.
If you dont go with partial days, today is 21 days from 8/17.
Since the fee kicks in only for flights made less than 21 days, they are saying that if it is now noon, everything before noon is less than 21 days.
In a way, it is, cause its only 20.5 days away.

Oh I see. It adding to the day as opposed to removing from it. I misunderstood.

Anybody know why on Yom Kippur morning 10/12/16 UA has a flight EWR-TLV at 4:55am (UA10)?

The following day would make sense, but huh?
same story this year! and there are some saver BC seats
didn't even know this UA10 existed

They fly then maybe because they can't land in TLV earlier due to YK

I am seeing LX-J availability on a route that I'm looking to fly.  How do I make sure it's not phantom availability before moving points over?
