I recently tried canceling an award ticket (US domestic) online, and was asked for the $125 redeposit fee. Did they recently change their policy?
If you cancel less than 30 days out (and you donít have status I think), believe that a fee applies.  No fee if >30 days out...

Yup. So switch your flight to 30+ days out at no cost and then cancel.

they can try asking... if they are wrong just tell them firmly that it says on their website that there is no redeposit fee for award tickets
worked for me (was on day 31 before the flight)

How long does it take from getting a united credit card until Expanded award availability shows up on my account?
I got my new card today but united is not showing yet expanded availability, any way to get them to book it?

ooked an award ticket with AV and paid with my UAQ. UA reps claim they can't see the CC used so they can't confirm free bags but suggest I try in the airport. Would obviously rather not deal with that stress at the airport so any tips? The best I got from 1 rep was that my UA FFN has to be on the ticket for them to see it, but my AV FFN is currently on it. Any *A site allow you to change your FFN the same way OW alliance has (used to have?) an airline site (forget which one) that allowed you change the FFN?

Thank you! I couldn't on LM and then jumped to trying on AC, LH, totally forgot about AV but was able to do it there. Just by getting my UA # on there, the reservation now shows the free bags.
