With United you need to pay for the flight (or taxes) on the card to get the free bag.

Why can't I sign in???

Same here.
Says "username and email address sign on are currently unavailable"
As if I remember my FFN....

Site says you need to use your membership # right now to sign in-
"MileagePlus Number (username and e-mail address sign-on are currently unavailable)"
Was some kind of security breach

Not good.
"If your profile includes a cc#, all but the last 4 digits are masked." As if hackers have no way to get through that.  ::)

It is entirely possible that United does not store the whole CC #
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

What would be the point of only storing the last 4 ?

Can all be done on line. But changes to the initial booking has to be done within the 1st 24 hours of booking.

Trying to fly LAX JFK at the saver economy rate and all I can find is LAX EWR.
Any chance they would let me standby on a JFK flight?  Anyone have experience with this?
They were unable to waitlist me over the phone as OP suggested.
However, at the airport they were also unable to put me on standby, but they did confirm me on the JFK flight.
Not sure if this had to do with status or not.
Hey there! I am using WhatsApp.
