Don't want to risk losing the flights. Better to call and change?
Come on, you have 24 hours, no worries

How long after booking a ticket does the change flights option appear?
Once it tickets. Which can take
From a couple of minutes to 3 hours
or more.

Just spoke to United. Only the Standard award availability was there for 85K each way. Any way to know when they open up the seats that are 85K round trip?

This may be a dumb question but where is the best place to book United award flights? Can it only be done on united.com or can it be done somewhere else for better mileage utilization?

Depends where you're going to, ie when flying NYC-TLV booking through ANA will be cheaper then UA (that's all I know so I can't assist you any further..).

I have an international flight booked with United.  The economy seats  available for my family are scattered throughout. There are empty seats together in the economy plus section.

Is it likely that prior to boarding they would allow my family to sit together in the economy plus section without paying to upgrade?

With 70k miles Y makes more sense for us I guess.

I would recommend you to get the BA card and get 50K points it looks like only USair flies direct.

So it never pays to do that method with 2 separate banks eh? What would be best 2nd Chase option, Sapphire Preferred? Other Chase cards we have at the moment are the Freedom and United MileagePlus Explorer.

Probably  Sapphire Preferred and Southwest. But first make sure to get approved for the BA, you dont have to do 2bm/3bm you can apply for one at a time the bank only do one pull.

We got the Chase United card in October and I just opened a Macys card like a couple weeks ago. Will that affect my card approval? My FICO score is 756 at the moment. What do u think?
