There are 2 levels of award space on TK. So even though space is showing on EF, if it's not showing on UA/ANA/AC, it means it's a higher  level and can only be booked through TK's award program.

Thank you.

doesnt EF usually indicate if the award availability offered by an airline for its own members is different than the one provided to its partners? i recall seeing this specifically highlighted for Swiss air for instance, but i see no such notation for TK.

Also, i'm seeing Class I on EF. Does UA get access to a different booking class? or do they just get access to a limitied number of seats in I class?

No

Regarding LX, that isn't true either. What's available to M&M and what's limitly available to star alliance partners, both are I class on EF.

Both are I class. And star alliance partners only get what TK releases to them.

Would it be possible to get United to do a long sell on LX award space that is only showing up through M&M but not on star alliance search engines, being that they are both categorized as I class?

Not that I know of.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

I put 3 award tickets on hold using the trick but when I went back to manage reservations, I don't see the "confirmation number." It must of worked cause there were only 3 seats left and now they are gone.
Any tips on how to obtain the reference number?

If I book a flight on united using points, is there a cancellation charge? Will I get the points back into my account?

Within 24 hours - free cancellation and redeposit.
After 24 hours - $75/$100/$200 fees apply.

Thanks to DDS I've been experimenting :)

United.com won't let you connect in TLV when going US-Europe, correct? Would a phone rep price it at 30k, or no chance?

US-Asia is possible? ETA: Figured it out, never mind. (first Q is still relevant though :) )

I wouldn't say impossible but you'd need an agent with "US Air" geographical skills who is also willing to override the computer.

UA.bomb's multiple destination search engine seems to be getting worse and worse. Now it's getting tougher to force simple routings that don't violate any rules.

Looking to travel from the US to Asia in August. Would JFK-TLV-HND for 115K in J or 70K in Y (using TLV as the free stopover) work for half the miles OW? Can I stop in a few European cities for under 24 hours at a time for free? Any ideas of some cities to stop in? TIA

Not sure you get a free stopover on a OW.

That would likely explain why it showed 75K to book... Thanks
