Interesting. So where can you ask the system to re-deposit the miles?
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

Next to the ticket that got canceled it says "view"  and also says "more". When you click on more it takes you to a page that gives you the option to change the flight or redeposit the points for a fee.

I would wait just because why not. But I don't think its going to go back. I would wait a couple of days and if it does not come back Id call in then.

I repeated numerous times to the rep "are you sure I won't get charged an the points will go back into my account?" and she answered yes. So I'll call back in a couple days. They have it recorded. I got her name as well.

Don't think they really record the calls. You should've tell her to note that on the record.

I just canceled my award ticket after 24hrs. Rep told me that there would be no fee but miles would take 7-14 days to go back into my account. I confirmed w/ her 3 times during the call about no fee. I just logged into my account and there's an option to put the miles back into my account but it will charge me. Should I call again? Or should I wait a week and see what happens?
She must've cancelled without redeposit.

She said it would take 7 days to redeposit. Should I wait 7 days?

I did a search for 2 passengers for a ticket using united miles. I was planning on booking them using separate accounts. I went ahead and booked on ticket got a confirmation email and went to book the second ticket and its not showing up as available. Any ideas?

You  may have luck calling United, but you may have to wait till it opens again.

Why would that help with opening an award flight?
