Anyone have the answer for this.

Tonight (Tuesday) UA 91 was delayed till 7:00am on Wednesday. It was just cancelled. However there is still a 7am flight but with a new flight number of 2116. And everyone has to call in to get on that flight.

Why cancel the 91 flight and still keep the actually flight but with a new number? Ie, whats the point of the new flight number?
maybe for their stats for on time flights

If I book standard award on United and then I see that saver opens up, can I switch it or would I have to cancel and rebook?

United gave me a one time courtesy to cancel an award flight. They wouldn't redeposit the miles though, just gave me the ability to re-book. If I re-book, will it allow me to cancel within 24 hours from re-booking?

So how can you re-book? by calling? so then ask before you book, because you should have 24hrs

No, I can re-book online. I'm just not sure if they are going to give me a new ticket or not

This is what it says
United Confirmation Number ******
Your itinerary has been canceled. You may use the unflown portion of your ticket towards a new trip by selecting the Change Flights button, or you may redeposit your miles by selecting the Refund/Redeposit button.

Why not just redeposit the miles and when you book a new flight you will for sure have 24 hrs?

Canceling doesn't cost any money. It's the redeposit or rebooting that does. You'll still get charged unless you have the agent make a note on your PNR or have that same agent redeposit or rebook.

I need to cancel an award ticket that I made about a month ago due to a siblings wedding being planned on those dates. Is there any way they would be accommodating for something like this?

I called right after i got emails for each one.

Is this a case where you changed the ticket and then called to cancel, or did the airline changed something?

Would like to cancel tickets without the $200 fee.

There were flight time changes which did not work for me.

I just canceled an award ticket due to a half hour schedule change which they emailed me about 2 weeks ago. Rep first said they cant do it but then she spoke to her supervisor  & when she got back on the line she said her they have a new policy that they can cancel with no penalty for any schedule change

I've got a LAX-EWR flight today on award in J, and got a notice about weather possibly affecting flights, and change fees will be waived.
My flight is still listed on schedule, but I'd like to rebook it LAX-JFK instead (better product).
There's a seat on that one, but the rep tells me that since my flight is still on schedule they can't change me into a different fare class (no award space on the JFK flight).
Is he right, or should I call and try again?

I got to the airport like 2 min late and missed the cutoff to check in my luggage. I was then told to stand in some line, and was forced to miss my flight. Is there any way I can force them to put me on a partner airline?

Tried 1 HUCA, didn't have time for more. They were still unwilling to switch. But at least my flight left on time :)
