For UA you only mention changes not cancellations.
Because you can't cancel for free and get money or miles back.

Ah, you mean ThePointsGuy was talking about "free cancellations" that you can cancel and get a voucher without any fees I guess.

So if I have an award ticket for 4/30 from TLV to EWR, is the best thing to just hold it and hope they cancel the flight so I can avoid the redeposit fee?

Is there such a thing as  combining miles from family to book a ticket? An agent one mentioned something like this to me. Not discussing transferring for a fee.

If I book United domestic award tickets with miles can I cancel and get my miles reinstated and do I get any fees for doing that?

Please correct me if Iím wrong. With United new redeposit fee waived, does this mean that if one books an award ticket now for 2021, there would not be any redeposit fees to cancel the ticket, so long as the ticket was canceled by 12/31/2020 AND was at least 30 days prior to departure?
(or is it only for FLIGHTS through 12/31/2020?)

Is the copay for mileage upgrades from Y to J always a flat $550 regardless of fare class in economy?
(asking on a reservation booked in S, wondering if buying up one class to W would reduce the copay, considering W is not in deep discounted bucket like S is)
current cost to upgrade is $20k miles plus $550

The no change fee only allows me to change dates if they have the same save award available? (which on hard routes practically means, you prob wont be able to change)
