Ask partners to release their award seats
What this mean?
You can say what you think when you think what you say.

Usually yes.
You can use it to many advantages.
Free redeposit
Free change
Ask partners to release their award seats
Will they let you change a reservation to a standard award on a different flight? (Originally booked with Savor)

1) What happens if a United 1K cancels a standard award within an hour of the flight?
2) What happens if a United 1K misses a standard award flight? Do the miles redeposit?

I need some help figuring out a trip. I have the international segments all done through Singapore, but SFO - NYC is not available at the saver level on any carrier for that date.
It's worth it in this instance to book standard award level. However, we are unsure if we will make the connection to the earlier flight, (has beds) so would like to book the later flight as a hedge, if we could get away without losing.

I remember when a coke was a nickel, and you could buy VRs in OD.

I booked a flight before the deval and cancelled without redeposit. I'm trying to rebook on the phone (can't do on the website) and they are saying I have to pay the new rates. Does the trick only work when rebooking online or do I need to huca until I get someone who can do it?

I did (before this). Took her 20 minutes on hold but she got it done. She understood right away what I wanted and thought it should work. First person I spoke to said it won't work.

What is the time frame for cancellation on United? This is for a ticket on *A partners. Does it have to be before 24 hours of departure? Will a no-show just cancel the ticket to be reused at a later date?

Flight is in 26 hours so this is pretty urgent.

Thanks

You can cancel a flight up to one minute before departure.

A no show doesn't get the miles back.

not sure if this is the right thread, please direct me to correct one if not, but i wanted to know if anyone has noticed if UA still opens up business award seats pretty consistently on day of/ day before flights. in particular, looking to go ewr-tlv 3/29 and i see there are still plenty of seats for sale (expert mode shows at least 9) but trying to gauge the chances of award saver seats opening. any advice or insights appreciated. thanks.

I've read through a lot of the posts (I know no one likes repeated questions) but I'm still very unclear about united miles saver flights and canceling them.

I'm looking for a flight this summer from Europe back to Dallas on a semi specific date (July 27 so I get back before the 9 days). Anyway, I booked a pretty torturous return which cuts my trip short by 3 days. I decided to cancel it in the end because I didn't want to pay for a change if a better ticket opened up. If it makes a difference, I happen to be flying economy (and the only available savers are on partner airlines of united so unless united metal opens up, there's no chance for business).

My questions are:1) should I be worried that savers WONT open up considering its tourist season in Europe? 2) what are the official and unofficial cancelation policies on united? Can you rebook with miles? Does it need to be booked over the phone (the agent told me there was a 50-100$ fee to change dates, airlines, cities and so on) 3) if I booked the outbound flight to Europe already one way as a saver. Will I be able to book a stopover later by trying to combine both one ways by calling an agent at united?

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

Quick question for those that can help me:

I am trying to book an award flight from TLV to NYC. The way I've constructed it is like this:

Feb. 19 - TLV - ZRH (4 hour layover)
Feb 19 - ZRH - ORD (spend Shabbos in Chicago)
Feb 22 - ORD - LGA

The tickets are pricing out at 55,000 miles apiece. Based on the routing rules, I was under the impression that the tickets should be pricing out at 42,500 apiece since I thought United would view my stay in Chicago as a stopover within the rules as part of an international trip. Am I mistaken about this or is the computer pricing it out incorrectly? Any help is greatly appreciated.
