Quick question for those that can help me:

I am trying to book an award flight from TLV to NYC. The way I've constructed it is like this:

Feb. 19 - TLV - ZRH (4 hour layover)
Feb 19 - ZRH - ORD (spend Shabbos in Chicago)
Feb 22 - ORD - LGA

The tickets are pricing out at 55,000 miles apiece. Based on the routing rules, I was under the impression that the tickets should be pricing out at 42,500 apiece since I thought United would view my stay in Chicago as a stopover within the rules as part of an international trip. Am I mistaken about this or is the computer pricing it out incorrectly? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You only have a stopover if it is r/t. If you are booking a oneway then no free stopover and it would add another segment onto your ticket

I am booking it as a one way as I already booked the trip to TLV when space opened up. Thank you Dr Moose and Chucksterace for the replies, greatly appreciated.

Can he call and combine it into a round trip now, or is it too late?

Just add this trip to your original ticket and you should be good.

I also have the outbound flight and will book the return soon. If I want to add it to the ticket to create a roundtrip (and then add a stopover), can I do it online and then call to avoid the 25$ booking few or do I need to call

Do they do that, that easily? Is it better to talk to an American or and international?

I'm planning on booking this return soon but I haven't found the perfect flight. The one available is cutting my trip short a few days. Do you they open up flights pretty regularly or should I take the flight that is available

Call the UA Philippines desk CS, the Americans are A##holes big time based on my exprience for anything from UA, the US based CS they try to ruin your flights and make things hard, while the Philippines UA Desk wants to make it easier for you.

A family member missed the return portion of a United domestic award.

Can he now change the return to a day next week for a $100 change fee or has he lost the return?

This is amazing news, just got this to my inbox. Azul has a ton of flight option, though tam is more convenient for connections.

"Connect to more than 100 cities throughout Brazil with Azul Brazilian Airlines, our newest MileagePlus partner. Starting April 1, 2014, you can earn or use MileagePlus miles across Azul's network, the third largest in Brazil.

Whether you're traveling to Brazil for business or pleasure, you can get there with MileagePlus and Azul. We'll look forward to serving you.

Special note: As previously announced, our partnership with TAM Airlines will end on March 30, 2014. As a result, after this date, MileagePlus members will be unable to earn and redeem miles for travel on TAM Airlines. Award tickets issued on or before March 30, 2014, will continue to be honored by TAM Airlines and are valid for one year from the original date of issue."

Its nice but I'm not sure how valuable it is.

I think their hub is VCP which does nothing for connections.
And you have to call to book.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Right my thoughts exactly, their hub is in VCP, a two hour drive north of SAO city area. Though they do have quite a large presence at GRU operated by their regional carrier Trip. At GIG they have close to nothing, being that they operate mostly from the domestic SDU. Now if united would start a flight from USA to VCP that would make things interesting..

TLV - Newark had 2 flights canceled btwn yesterday and today caused a lot of problems. Anyone else have this issue. Were you able to find alternative?
