Dan,

I started my MR transfer to SQ KF for the way back SIN-Europe-USA, just FYI SQ R allows stopovers in Europe even on One ways, that's what the SQ KF agent told me,  you can fly A380 SIN>ZRH, CDG or LHR STOP FRA>JFK, I'm working on it,  there were several SIN-CDG R available and open  FRA-JFK R also several open, I think it is SIN>FRA thats not easy to get.

But hey, everyone was in the FCT except me, I don't want to be left out, so i'm checking it out for ua 67K  :D

1) Cannot have a stopover with SQ on a one-way.
2) Nor can you have an OJ.
3) The only way you can fly SIN-LHR/CDG/ZRH-FRA-JFK is by using the partner chart, as SQ does not fly between LHR/CDG/ZRH and FRA, so you'd be paying more miles.

So the only way you're doing it is SIN-FRA-JFK.

Does anyone know if I can change my final destination after I've taken my first flight of an award itinerary? It'll be more then 21 days to the flight since I'll be in the city of my stopover for a while

They wouldn't make me a problem that it doesn't match with the passport info? Should I even try to call them to change it ?

On United website On JFK -SFO-LAX flight May 8, 2014 one way there is Saveer award flight on business/first class; however it says mixed cabin on the JFK to SFO leg and when I hover over that it tells me business/first class sold out but when i click on view seats it seems there are seats available?  Will I able to secure a seat in business class or not on JFK-SFO leg?

It might show seats open but they aren't giving you the option to book it. If you chose it and it books into economy, you will only be able to chose economy seats.

Seat map is not necessarily indicative of loads.

So I would end up using/burning enough points for business class but actually sit in an economy seat?

As long as one leg is in business you would be paying the business price

You will need to call up to have it changed. I don't know if they will charge him the change fee.

Help please!

I wanted to make a change to an award flight and it requires more miles, transferred from UR but the miles are not showing immediately. I checked the MP number and it is correct.  Is that because of a Sat night update? Is there anything I can do about it?

Afraid to lose the flights. thanks

Call UA and make a reservation on the flights you want and put it on hold. They should hold it for 5 days IINM. Not sure about the xfer issue.

Just check out with PayPal and the flight will be on hold for 24 hours.
