Any ways to avoid the $75 change fee? Like adding someone's 1K account to your (already booked) itinerary to get their benefits?

My wife and I have to travel in 6 weeks to Israel we have 91,000 miles on united account and 51,000 UR miles so it seems were gonna have to do it with united.
So now like this for the 29,000 miles left we have someone willing to transfer us 25,000 miles for free from their united account but they are saying it will cost us 375$ to do that is that true? Is there any way to avoid it?
If it is true is it better to just buy miles? How would I buy?
And last what's the best advice for the 5,000 miles we are still missing? Buy them?
I was thinking about opening a CC but I don't think I will be able to get the miles by then

Care to elaborate? In terms of trying to benefit from others? In terms of messing with the system?

Buy miles from a broker.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=et%20tu%2C%20brute!
Yes, I know it's from Julius Caesar. I meant how was he using it?
From Urban Dic:
"meaning: and you too, Brutus?
to question a good friend's loyalty."
Either, Dan consider's me a good friend or he was saying that what I was doing was wrong, but I'd like to know why - assuming it's possible to add a 1K to your account in the first place.

Pulled the trigger on an award flight before my UMPE card arrived... Meaning purchased the taxes/fees on PRG card. Do I still get the benefits when flying? Priority boarding, etc? Thanks for the help :D

I had a ticket in F from JFK to SYD, connecting in ICN that was ticketed before February 1, and I cancelled without redepositing the miles, following Dan's mehalach. I'm trying to re book the same same routing but the system will only allow me to book either the JFK-ICN or ICN-SYD segment. Any idea's on how to rebook and get both segments ticketed on one ticket?
