It is, in Economy. 170k is probably Standard rate. Make sure you are booking SAVER awards

Just wondering, how do you know that it was NOT-PHANTOM?

I am seeing it sometimes lately as well.

cuz in phantom flights I saw when I selected the flight it said "Sorry due to (whatever) this flight is no longer available" and I was able to select this flight.

There's a flight that I've been tracking for weeks on united that shows saver availability for 1 pax, problem is that I need 2 seats,
Is there any way to convince united to open up another seat for me?

Spoke to united about a flight on June 10th Trying to get saver  they said they don't have for now but I should keep trying because they may open up.
Is that true or is it a load of crap?

United award availability changes all the time. More space definitely gets released as it gets closer to flight date.

You can try taking or holding one seat and seeing if they release another one.
