does it matter if you used SQ miles to Book on UA ? once its ticketed on UA you can call UA to change it ? you can also change the class not just the date ? right ?

SQ doesn't charge close in fees.
UA can't touch a ticket issued by SQ unless extenuating circumstances.

So another way to avoid the fee would be to transfer UR to SQ and have them book it? Does SQ charge YQ on UA flights ?

But is it the same amount of miles to book via SQ as it is via UA?

Well there you have it. UR>SQ would not solve the change fee issue.

Of course not.

UA and SQ are 2 completely different programs.

They will require less that 110k miles plus YQ. No close in fee.

You can not use SQ miles to book a UA ticket..

just for clarification - the previous attachment was an LH flight. so i just called up SQ. you can use SQ miles to book the flight which would have been 80K miles, but they will charge YQ of about $500 USD. so i'm now stuck with 110k SQ miles. from what i picked up and probably misunderstood is that if the Flight is UA Metal maybe then there is no YQ.

I just got as confused as rediplus. 2 different programs can't book each other's flights MEIR? Of course they can. It's less miles to book SQ vs UA, ilherman? Wouldn't that help his goal then? He's trying to use the same amount of miles of fewer to book a UA flight while not paying YQ and while having the ability to change without a fee.

Exactly. If it is a UA operated flight there in no YQ.

He wants to book a LH operated flight. Now, he can either use 110k UA miles and no YQ or 80K SQ miles plus YQ.

What's up with the United multiple destination function?

I am trying to piece together a free stop over using miles, searching for the following EWR-TLV TLV-VCE VCE-EWR, last year I booked the same trip and it was working great, now, it keeps coming back with an error..... (I tried first each segment as a one way and they all show available award dates)

Is there a way to work around it? I'd call them but then they'd charge me $25, right?!

You can usually get that fee waived by explaining how you couldn't book it online. What airline do you see for TLV-VCE-EWR?
