American Airlines Broken Foot

I have a broken foot, and am flying american airlines to go from NY to LA for Pesach.   :-[

I called up American to see if there was anything they could do for me, and they said the only thing they can do is give me bulk head seating. Should I keep calling and see if they can give me anything better? Does anyone know of any precedent?

I really would like them to upgrade me to business. I have a note from a doctor saying that my foot should be elevated, and have flown American all my life.

They probably won't give you more than the bulkhead row. You could try asking nicely at the airport, but don't count on it.
