Amazon
I've had success with returning a product close to a year old. As long as u come up with a decent story you can usually get them to make a "one time exception" for the return. Their reps are usually kind and flexible and after telling them nicely a few times you don't really like there first and second offer,(ie partial refund etc.) they will usually give you what you want.
In 2 such cases they charged me a restocking fee, but I recontacted them and said I was promised a full refund, which they quickly fixed.

In general with contacting amazon for a favorable outcome I find email to be the best, then comes phone and worst is chat.

Check if its supported by alternative router firmware like DDWRT or Tomato.

I find most routers are iffy, they either work, or don't. Many stop working right after a few months.

Currently have the D Link N300 Router (http://www.dlink.com/us/en/home-solutions/connect/routers/dir-615-wireless-n-300-router) which is approx 2.5 years old and seems to interfere with our son's baby monitor. Speeds are lower and sometimes I cannot connect to the router when the baby monitor is on.

Should I buy a new router? I've tried playing around with the wirless channels but didn't do much.  Any suggestions?

TIA!

I have a 100mbps download internet plan. When directly connected to modem with a cable I get around that. But through the router I only get 30ish is that normal? I'm using the optimum provided router.

Only 30 plugged directly into the router or over wifi?

Wifi depends on how close you are to the router..
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.

Over WiFi, even if I'm standing right in front of the router.
