Why does Highway One need to be closed in both directions while Obama (was supposed to) pass(es) and when Kerry passed yesterday?

Does anyone else thing the USSS security practice is way overblown? (compared to the UK with the Royal for example)

Last year I was in DC and I got to 1600 and the surrounding areas was frozen, I go over to a USSS and ask him why, he answers "I'm not at liberty to say". I go on wh.gov and see the POTUS is across at the W, I tell the USSS that if its public why are you so secert....
Anyway, waited over an hour to see the Pres go in a 35 cat motorcade from the W to his bedroom.... If he had walked would been so much quicker for him...

2 months ago, I davened mincha on Pennsylvania Ave. in one of the alleys across 1600, two cops passed by, when they noticed me, they looked on me with weird eyes and waited for me till I finished...

Can anyone explain me: Why is he doing this trip?
To win the Jewish American votes? He already won.
To sympathize withe the Israeli public? What does he gain by doing that?
To push forward the peace talks? No serious political analyst believes anything will come out from this visit.
To discuss a timeframe and a red-line for Iran? They could do that over the phone, no need for the red carpet.
He simply loves Netanyahu?  ;)

He never got to do a Pesach trip to Israel. Its the only vacation he didn't take yet.
