Thats the easypass level which is a ripoff. You may as well buy the ticket and sell the points to cover and you should have plenty left over....

 a quick answer to ShlomoF , TLV is the most profitable route from all of Continentals routes, the avg price paid per mile flown is over 10 cents per mile A EWR-LAX tkt would have to be a min of $500 to get to that same price and usually that route can be had for 1/2 that amount. So at least from the past few yrs it wont be  cheap to purchase. then once word of how to get a ton of miles hit Yeshivaville forget about a mileage tkt during any Peak period when most people want to go to unless you made your arrangements well in advance
