I updated the wiki with my favorite Mac shortcuts.
Mods, what do you think about making another thread for Macs?

And if you haven't opened anything yet you can press it again to get everything back. :-)
BTW If you click all the way to the right of the taskbar (after the time and date), There's a small button over there that has the same "show desktop" functions. (in Windows 7 at least)

Win + D works even when you're in full screen.

Some more:
Windows + R run key (very useful in win8)
Alt+F4 to close a window
Crt+F4 to close a tab or windows within a window (i.e. word doc in word)
Windows+s send to one note. Its basically a way to printscreen just a part of your screen.
Windows+t to toggle task bar items.
Windows+p monitor options.
With some graphic cards (IIRC most Intel ones) Ctr+Alt+Arrows to flip screens (180 up and down arrows, 90 right and left).
Shift+home to select to beginning of line.
Shift+end to select to end of line.
Ctr+Shift+home to select to top of document (works in folder too, when trying to select multiple files)
Ctr+shift+end to select to end of document (works in folder too).

Works for me, if you right click on empty spot on task bar you should get an option of "Show the Desktop".

There should really be a thread on working without a mouse.
F6, move around tabs
Shift+f6 move around tabs backwards.
BTW, inserting a shift in a combo of keys that toggles will in most cases toggle backwards. i.e. alt+tab toggles windows, insert the shift (alt+shift+tab) and it toggles backwards.
Space bar push a button (if Ok is highlighted, pressing the space bar will push the Ok button).
Context menu button to right click.

It is, since otherwise you would have to minimize all the windows. Its at least as much a shortcut as moving the mouse to the bottom right corner.

PC
I haven't used a PC in a while but IIRC, it is Shift+F3.
For those with Mac's, in Text Edit, right click on highlighted text and select Transformations to switch between caps.
