Air France versus Alitalia?

I'm booking a one way from CDG-VCE using my Thankyou points.
The earliest flight they have at my price point is around 3 in the afternoon.

Which airline would I have an easier time changing my flight to an earlier one with?

Do any allow same day standby?

Any reason to pick one over the other?

I dont have a direct answer for your question but I once flew with Alitalia, and had a horrible experience with customer service. I would avoid them... but hey! maybe its just me.

It turns out the flight I ended up choosing was anyways operated by AirFrance so ther goes that...

Anyone know of a way to cancel/change an Air France ticket without having to pay the $150 fee? So far I haven't had any luck getting out of it. My whole ticket was less than that to begin with though so...

Anyone with experience dealing with Air France?
