Urgent Help needed! United Screwed us big time!!

Quick summary:

Booked flight to go YYZ to LAX, the direct flight were insane prices, so we used miles on AC to Denver, and we bought a $313 ticket Denver to LAX on UA.

Flight arrived in Denver 11:00. We headed off to the the United 11:41 AM, they advised us that our tickets are not valid, as they have been voided by the fraud department (used by BIL's card for the ticket).

After back and forth, they said that there is no place on the flight anyhow. They put us on standby for 2:53.

We need to be there on Shabbas. Any advice?
Also, we checked in with AC for the luggage all the way through. What are we doing now with the luggage, collecting here? or is it going going to LA on their own? I have no clue what to do.

they voided a revnue ticket do to fraud?

Sorry to hear! You need to put your foot down and ask united to put you on the next flight going out no matter the carrier. Tell them you have religious obligations that you will be unable to meet by taking the later flight.

yes a regular revenue ticket, and I had the E-ticket already.

The card was not mine (BIL's), but all the info that was put in matched to the dot, name, billing, and phone.

there are no earlier flights i would speak to the highest ranking supervisor u can and make sure they out u on the 2:53 flight

Frontier has a flight in 30 minutes, but 0 seats there.

Tried that, and they say that they can't take people off flights because of my religious duties.

tell they have an obligation to get you there on time and had no right to cancel your tickets.

Either way, go after them hard for this.
Most likely they've been canceled for a while.
Why would they cancel a rev ticket at the last minute?

My guess is had the OP tried OLCI it would have given a error.

If you booked a regular ticket ad it goes through, why wouldnt they call or email you if they suspect fraud?!

The impression I got from the OP is that the tickets were booked last minute. 

I may be way off. ...just my impression.

My father once had a SU ticket, and be didnt fly on the first 2 legs (was in the airport, checkedin, just wasnt at the gate by the closing time), as he couldn't take their next flight, he flew with a diff airline.

on the returning leg, I did the OLCI, got a BP, but was denied at the airport, and had to purchase a new ticket there (with cash only)

If they allowed that to work if would circumvent their system blocks against doing just that.

Update: B"H cleared standby for the 3:30 flight. made it to my destination just in time for the zman.

To clarify:

It was booked Wednesday (2 days before). Got an e-ticket 20 minutes later, like a usual ticket.

Was booked with a regular Amex, and everything was matching, billing, name, number. Was just not booked with my CC.
But what the hell do they care?
The CC holder did not receive any email / phone / communication from United asking to verify the charge. Neither was he phoned by the CC company. Amex says charge was approved from their end.

Anyway, the new standby flight cost us over $300 extra per ticket, plus the hassle and the pain we went through, I am definitely willing to fight this. Any ideas how to get reimbursement / compensation?
