Oh I misunderstood your post.... I guess if it was unclear and not really your fault you can dispute with CC, but dont know how that will affect your Marriott account.

Otherwise sell the extra points that you bought, you wont get back all your $ but at least it will minimize your loss

How do I sell them?

also I cant cancel the reservation asit is in less than 2 weeks

change it to a further out time and then cancel. To sell contact your local points broker

Update: I just spoke with a manager for the Platinum Elite line, she was able to apply my free night instead of the extra points I purchased, and now the 72,000 points are sitting in my account.

She said theres no way I will be refunded, but she opened a case anyway, so hopefully they will refund me.

Does anyone know ballpark what 72,000 points are worth?

Do you need to use the Marriott biz card to pay for your reservation in order to book with discounted rate or just having the card is enough?

start of 2023 and have not seen any changes in the award pricing for marriott.. @ DAN, any reason to still believe they will be going fully dynamic?
also still debating going for 40K free night or 5 SNA for last year reward for hitting 75 nights.. anyone have any luck with using the SNA.. thoughts on which one to go for?

@Dan
On 1/6/23 I submitted the request for 2022 and chose the 5 SNA for 50, and for the 75- the 40K night- the 40K night expires 12/31/2024!

I am trying to keep my titanium for next year as well (the silver status with united is handy).. if I upgrade my existing amex card to the brilliant would I get the additional 10 nights, can I upgrade closer to the end of the year and then downgrade afterwards (either in early 2024 to avoid a claw back of the extra 10 nights) or as soon as the nights post this year.. (anyone had any experience with this)? also can I book category 1 hotels in the US with mobile checkin, and not actually STAY at that hotel, just check in via mobile and never show up (to get the stays if I am short)?

THANKS DAN!!!!

Booked Le Meridian (Mariott) in Barcelona with Chase Luxury Properties, it gives a $50 credit to the restaurant, of course it is not Kosher. I asked if they could provide Kosher food or give me some credit to something else (or a voucher to the kosher place), they said No and offered me a 30Euro breakfast from the Kosher caterer, the offer is certainly not worth it (it's like an egg and some bread) the question is if it is possible to negotiate something better or they will just say the only redemption is at the restaurant. TIA

Family member has a small balance that is expiring. Any reason not to transfer to a family member account who keep their account very active? Any potential for reviews? Clawbacks?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.
